Founders Story
The problem doctors couldn't fix
Back in 2009, I once bought a 5-kilogram industrial bag of ingredients and started making vaginal capsules in my kitchen because doctors couldn't fix my recurring bacterial vaginosis. | Hi, I'm Becca, founder of Peachy Fresh.
When it all started
I first experienced bacterial vaginosis as a teenager.
It was embarrassing, uncomfortable, and something no one really talked about. I remember feeling completely out of control of my own body — constantly worried about symptoms that were difficult to explain and even harder to ask for help with.
Doctors prescribed the standard treatment: intravaginal antibiotic gel. I went through four or five rounds of it, hoping each time would finally solve the problem.
It never did. The BV always came back.
And with every recurrence came the same cycle — frustration, embarrassment, and the feeling that something about my body just wasn't working the way it should.
The rabbit hole
At some point I stopped waiting for someone else to solve it.
I've always been the kind of person who researches everything, so I started digging. Clinical studies. Medical journals. Forums. Reddit threads where women were quietly sharing what had actually helped them when conventional treatments failed.
I began learning about the vaginal microbiome and how delicate the balance of bacteria and pH really is.
That's when I kept seeing one ingredient pop up in discussions about supporting vaginal pH and microbial balance.
But there was a problem. It wasn't available to everyday consumers — only sold commercially to manufacturers in huge bulk quantities.
My slightly crazy solution
So I did something most people wouldn't do.
I bought a 5kg commercial bag of the ingredient, ordered a home capsule-making kit, and started making my own capsules at my kitchen bench.
After years of recurring infections, I decided to try one intravaginally.
I remember the moment clearly. For the first time in years, my symptoms actually settled. The constant cycle of flare-ups stopped spiraling out of control.
I finally felt like I had my body back.
"For the first time in years, my symptoms actually settled. I finally felt like I had my body back."
The conversation no one was having
As I slowly started talking about this with other women, something surprised me. The more conversations I had, the more I realised how common bacterial vaginosis actually is.
One in three women experience BV at any given time.
Yet almost nobody talks about it. Not many women feel comfortable saying things like:
- "My vagina smells fishy."
- "I'm constantly irritated."
- "My pH feels completely off."
So most women just deal with it quietly. And when they do seek help, they're often given the same revolving door of antibiotics I was given as a teenager.
Why Peachy Fresh exists
The products women were being given simply weren't designed with vaginal health as the priority.
Most probiotics marketed to women weren't even formulated for the vaginal microbiome. They were gut strains with pink branding.
Very few contained Lactobacillus crispatus, widely considered the gold-standard strain for supporting vaginal microbiome balance and healthy pH.
The science existed. The products didn't.
So I decided to create the product I wished had existed when I was desperately searching for answers. That's how Peachy Fresh was born.
Our mission
Peachy Fresh exists to support women's vaginal health with products designed specifically for the vaginal microbiome — backed by research, transparency, and a deep understanding of how sensitive this ecosystem really is.
But just as importantly, the brand exists to change the conversation. Because vaginal health shouldn't be something women feel embarrassed to talk about. And the solutions available shouldn't feel like an afterthought.
